Alumni spotlight: John Twork '10

Inline Image

New alumnus John Twork '10 was recently named the nation's top collegiate sportscaster. The Jim Nantz Award is sports broadcasting’s equivalent of the Heisman Trophy.

At EIU, he served as WEIU's sports director and lent his voice to coverage of EIU football, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball and volleyball. He has now moved on to a graduate assistant position in the media relations office at Illinois State University, putting him well on the way to attaining his goal of becoming a radio sports director and play-by-play announcer for a major college.
